Thank you to everyone who attended our Autumn Promenade fundraiser on September 29th! We had a wonderful evening, and were able to raise more than $8,000 for our ensembles, financial aid, and community engagement programs. Guests were split into groups and rotated around the building for four mini-concerts. The Vermont Youth Chorus performed in the orchestra room, the VYO String Squad performed on stage, and in classroom 5, Tommy Bergeron performed on piano and VYO alumnus Nic Cannizzaro treated us to beautiful works for marimba. A final performance brought us all out into the performance hall, where Nathan Bamberger played a stirring Strauss nocturne for horn, and the String Squad finished with a fun rendition of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train,” arranged by Dr. Yutaka Kono and complete with Nic Cannizzaro on drumset and a blistering guitar solo….oops, we mean violin solo, by Miles Ames.
The VYOA would like to express our gratitude to our event sponsors Larkin Realty and Heritage Toyota for their support of our students, along with our supporting sponsors: Cloud 9 Caterers, My Little Cupcake, and Trader Joe’s! The evening would also not have been possible without the support of parents who volunteered their time to help out, and of course, our amazing staff and students – thank you!
