General Information
Vermont Youth Strings (VYS) is conducted by VYO alum Ace Ali! The 35-50 young VYS musicians learn the essential skills of ensemble playing with other students from across Vermont. VYS holds a 2-day Mini-Camp in August, presents two concerts each year, and performs in local schools. Students are accepted into VYS based on audition.

2024-25 Tuition: $900 (Please note that tuition is non-refundable.)
Financial Aid: The VYOA is committed to ensuring that no child is discouraged from participating due to financial circumstances. Need-based financial aid is available to all qualifying families with a combined household income up to $120,000 who wish to apply. You can find the 2024-25 online financial aid application here.

Would you like to play in Vermont Youth Strings?
We hold auditions for VYS twice a year & welcome you to join us! Mid-year auditions are held in December, for new students only, with accepted students joining us in January. Annual auditions are held in May, for all current and new students, for the following season that begins with Mini-Camp in August. Click here for more information on auditions.
