Gifts made in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion can be a meaningful way to support the ongoing work of the VYOA. (One of our alumni asked her wedding guests to donate to the VYOA in lieu of sending wedding gifts. In a matter of weeks this wonderful gesture raised more than $1,200).

Name the VYOA as a Beneficiary
To leave a lasting legacy, consider naming the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association (VYOA) as a beneficiary in your estate plans. You can designate the VYOA as a beneficiary of your will, retirement account, life insurance policy, or trust. By doing so, you’ll help ensure the gift of music continues to inspire generations to come.
A provision in your will enables you to make a substantial contribution without diminishing the assets available to you during your lifetime. Since bequests are deductible from your taxable estate, significant estate tax savings my be possible. If you would like to name the VYOA as a beneficiary, please include the following language in your will: “…the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association (03-6011271) of Colchester, Vermont (or any other successor to such organization)…”
