Calling all VYOA Alumni!

The VYOA’s 50th Anniversary season is off to a great start and will culminate in our gala anniversary concert at 3pm on May 4, 2014 at the Flynn Theater in Burlington, VT.  We are thrilled to invite our alumni to join the weekend celebration in several ways:

1. Share your memories of your VYOA experience with us and help us build better resources for our alumni by participating in our alumni survey.
2. Make plans to join us for the 50th Anniversary Weekend events , including the Friday, May 2nd commemoration and recreation of the VYO’s first concert at Hunt Middle School, a Saturday, May 3rd barbecue at Elley-Long Music Center, and the Sunday afternoon concert at the Flynn.
3. Participate in the VYO Alumni Orchestra in a performance of Jean Sibelius’ Finlandia led by 1995-2009 VYOA Music Director Troy Peters at the Sunday May 4th concert (rehearsal on the afternoon of Saturday May 3rd).
4. Sing in the chorus for the VYO’s first-ever performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Sunday concert.

Please fill out our alumni survey to share your VYOA memories and life events and indicate your interest in playing in the alumni orchestra and/or singing in the chorus. We will use the information gathered in this questionnaire to help us make decisions in forming the alumni orchestra and planning other activities. We aim to communicate alumni orchestra and choral participant information by the end of the year. Even if you know you will not be able to be physically present at the Anniversary Weekend activities, we’d like to acknowledge your part in the VYOA’s story.
